Jump Start Spring Cleaning

If you need to jump start your spring cleaning, consider letting go of these 9 items!

.) Single-use gadgets/appliances The ones that never get used! The ones that clutter up cupboards and drawers. The banana slicer, the onion shaped container to hold onions. The snowflake waffle maker. Say goodbye!

.) Wedding attire you only wore once Hello, old bridesmaid dress! Goodbye, old bridesmaid dress!

.) Travel-sized toiletries The ones snagged from a hotel…but you never pack when you travel. The soap with massaging bumps? You’re not going to miss it.

.) Organizational containers The intention is good. But I’m talking about the ones you bought for a project, but they didn’t work! The ones you keep even though they’re quite broken! See ya!

.) Coffee mugs you don’t love and use We all have our favorites. Let go of the ones that you never reach for and mean nothing to you. I kept Fiestaware mugs with a silly single-loop handle for way too long. They were so impractical and they are so long gone.

.) Wall decor! Everyone knows you should live, laugh, love. Do you really need a reminder on your wall? Also, it’s one less thing that will collect dust! Hit the bricks!

.) Broken things. The things you know you’re never going to fix, the things that would be exorbitantly expensive to fix, the things that clutter up drawers but you ignore, day after day. Take them to a recycling center, if possible…but show them the door!

.) Decorative pillows If you spend upwards of 1 minute taking decorative pillows off your bed or couch, it may be time to let a few of those fluffy fellows go.

.) Gifts you never asked for and don’t love Listen, the gift giver meant well, but you do not need to keep a floral serving bowl that wasn’t on your wedding registry. That gag gift your cousin Bob gave you last year? It’s okay to let it go. Bob has probably forgotten he ever gifted it. Let it go.
